COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND EVALUATION


1. Attendance and Participation:

Students are expected to participate in all course activities, and inadequate attendance will have an effect on course standing (grades).

2. Course Requirements:

A. Small Group Activity: Each student will participate in a small group activity with a topic determined from a "class" needs assessment. The small group activity will give students the opportunity to examine an area of need via group interaction.

B. Individual Research Activity : Each student will investigate a specific aspect of reading and complete a report on the results of the investigation. The report will be developed through the following sequences:

1) Topic Search
2) Topic selection, outline and approval (Due: March 22)
3) Bibliography
4) Information search
5) Pre Final Draft (Due: April 28)
6) Research report (Due: May 12)

C. "Whole Group Activity" - re: Reading Consultants Survey, analysis of data
