Reading and Writing as Integrated Process

Course Portfolio Portfolio Project (10 points) December 11th No exceptions

You will develop a portfolio demonstrating competencies in current trends in developmental reading according to Program Standards developed by the International Reading Association. Please divide your portfolio into 4 sections with each section representing one of the five broad categories (Category 1 1.1,1.4; Category 2: 2.1-2.3;  Category 4: 4.1-4.4; Category 5: 5.2-5.4;

Your job is to demonstrate a minimum of two competencies in two different subcategories of 4 broad categories addressed. (2 written reflections in all)

Please include artifacts within each section demonstrating the specific competency addressed.  You may include artifacts from 1) assignments in this class, 2) other classes ,and 3) from you work as a teacher/professional. (One artifact can be used to demonstrate a variety of competencies.) Please annotate each artifact providing a brief description of what it is and list the competency or competencies addressed.  For each section, please write a reflection on how that artifact demonstrates your competency for the designated subcategory.

 

REFECTION QUESTIONS TO ADDRESS:

  1. Did you discuss what the competency subcategory means?
  2. Did you describe the importance and value of this subcategory?
  3. Did you cite literature and/or research to support your description of the value of the competency?
  4. Did you explicitly reflect on how your artifact demonstrates the competency?
  5. Did you elaborate on what you learned from the process of creating the artifact?
  6. Did you reflect on how what you learned can transfer to your classroom practice and enhance your students’ learning and your work as a teacher leader?
  7. Did you cite and reference APA style?
