Advocate for Reading Professionals Award

The Literacy Advocacy Award recognizes individuals and/or organizations who have, through their advocacy, made significant literacy contributions in the Greater Connecticut Area. Contributions may be in the areas of professional service, teaching, research, writing, and policy development. The award is presented annually at the Literacy Essentials Conference.

Deadline to Submit Nominations: January 15, 2010
   

Criteria for nomination:

Through personal commitment and advocacy, the nominee has made significant contributions to the field of literacy education and the Greater Connecticut area. These contributions may be in the areas of: Professional service; teacher education; innovative classroom teaching; scholarship and research; writing; policy development; leadership; and mentoring.

Provide evidence of the nominee’s qualifications with the following documents:
 

A.

For individuals, provide a short vita, which includes educational background, credentials/certifications, academic, professional and community contributions, including selected publications and honors.

 

 

For organizations, provide a short description of their contributions to the field of literacy education.

 

B.

Two letters of recommendation. Person submitting this form may write one. A second letter may be from a student, colleague, supervisor, or member (if organization).
